So Foreign Policy cracks some rib ticklers about Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak, including one whose jokey plot device involves God announcing the end of time. In response, Islamist fundies take to the comments section, and they're mad as hell. (You saw that coming, didn't you?) Their ire is not directed at Mubarak, Egypt's torturer in chief, but at the infidels at Foreign Policy who dare to take God's name in vain.
What a fine debate it is. Here's a quick selection. (But first, be sure to read the joke so you can understand what gets these believers' undergarments in a wad.)
i hope u dont use god in jokes i think we should respect Allah coz he is not normal person tht we can use him in jokes.
MOHHOSNY weighs in:
Allah should not invloved in our fun talking but by respect. Allah our creator and we should not treat him like that any how.
ABDOLFATAH is, predictably, of the same persuasion:
we must respect Allah and don't mockery him
HANIFO102 offers this moving analysis:
how can you said something on our God who craete all things in the world, you are so stupied guy.
Then DARSHH246 ups the ante:
ur jokes are very bad n u must respect Allah and other nation privecy.
You hear that, Foreign Policy? You've violated Egypt's right to privacy, you heartless bastards. As well as every Hanif's and Khalid's right not to have their faith mockeried! Have you no sense of shame, Sirs?!
